Pope in the UK
What is all the hullabaloo about the Pope coming to the UK? People seem to be vehemently supporting the visit whilst other are on the other side, collating all the reasons why this visit should either not occur or not be successful.
...
First of all, it’s all about the idea of the Pope having a “state” visit. Is the pope a statesman? Why should he get such special treatment? What are his views to homosexuality, condoms etc and some historical events?
The worst situation is that the press is making such a big deal of this relatively insignificant visit…. YES INSIGNIFICANT… when there are much more significant current issues in the UK and accross the world! A good starter is the current financial mess the UK is in, the increasing unemployment rate in London and the rest of the UK. Miners are still stuck in Chile… So many world disasters and suffering going on and all people want to talk about is why the Pope visit is great or otherwise. Such a shame…
p.s. I am a religious person! This is not an anti-religious post (oh and I am not roman catholic).
